About the Role

Total Fleet Services Ltd is looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Driver / Vehicle Quality Inspector to support the day-to-day operations of our growing vehicle rental business.

This role combines vehicle transportation duties with vehicle inspections to ensure all vehicles are clean, safe, roadworthy, and presented to the highest standards before and after customer rentals.

We are looking for someone with excellent driving skills, strong attention to detail, and a professional, customer-focused attitude.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle Driving & Logistics

  • Safely transport rental vehicles between branches, customer locations, service centres, and storage facilities
  • Deliver and collect vehicles from customers when required
  • Maintain accurate vehicle movement records, mileage logs, fuel levels, and condition reports
  • Ensure vehicles are parked, stored, and secured correctly

Vehicle Inspection & Quality Control

  • Conduct pre-rental and post-rental vehicle inspections
  • Check vehicles for:
    • Interior and exterior damage
    • Cleanliness and presentation standards
    • Tyre condition and pressure
    • Fuel and fluid levels
    • Lights, indicators, and safety equipment
  • Record any damage, defects, or maintenance issues using inspection forms or mobile systems
  • Report accidents, defects, or safety concerns promptly
  • Ensure all vehicles meet company quality standards before release to customers

Vehicle Preparation

  • Coordinate vehicle cleaning and valeting
  • Assist with basic vehicle checks and minor maintenance tasks
  • Ensure vehicle documentation, insurance, and registration details are up to date and available in each vehicle

Customer Service

  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during vehicle handovers and collections
  • Explain vehicle condition reports and obtain customer signatures when required
  • Support branch operations during busy periods

Requirements

  • Full valid UK driving licence (clean licence preferred)
  • Confident driving a range of vehicles including cars and vans
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify vehicle damage or defects
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • Comfortable using smartphones or tablets for inspections and reporting
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including weekends where required

Desirable Skills & Experience

  • Previous experience in vehicle rental, automotive, logistics, fleet management, or vehicle inspections
  • Basic understanding of vehicle maintenance and vehicle safety standards
  • Experience using vehicle inspection software or fleet management systems
